He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Shook and Lucille Hodges Shook; his brother Paul Everett Shook; and his grandson Ricky Everett. He is survived by: his wife Christine Shook; his children, Jody Shook Brackett (John, Jr.) of Rutherfordton, Richard Kemper Shook (Lele) of Newton and Bynum Jordan Shook (Jessica) of Drexel; his sisters, Lois Strickland (Bob) of Greensboro and Rachel Hoilman (Wayne) of Plumtree; his grandchildren, Rosa Jodee Shook, Asia Shook, Skyela Shook, Rainee Shook, Aaliyah Long, Kenji Vue, Toudan Vue, Chris Cornodo, Daliyah Foster, Zakori Bentley, Kailyn Bentley, Ava Jordan Shook and Skylar Bentley; and his great grandchild Cash Foster.
