Helen Shomaker Valois Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Helen Shomaker Valois of Newland, North Carolina, born in Banner Elk, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 2, 2025 at the age of 101. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roby Shomaker and Sarah Fina Shomaker; her sisters, Eudine Shomaker Duncan, Virginia Lois Shomaker Duncan, Louise Shomaker Bare Young and Victoria "Vicki" Shomaker McCullough; and her sons, Jon R. Williams and Paul Farthing, Jr..
She is survived by: her daughter Sara Twiggs (Fred); her daughter-in-law Karen Williams; and her grandchildren, Sarah Ann PawlowskI, John Pawlowski, J. R. Williams (Jennifer) and Sammy Twiggs (Shay). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mt Calvary Baptist Church (1161 Balm Hwy, Banner Elk, NC 28604-9499). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
