He was predeceased by: his parents, Hale Lewis Benfield and Edna Daniels Benfield; his son Brian Benfield; and his siblings, Hassie Burgin and T. J. Benfield.
He is survived by: his son Ben Benfield; and his brothers, Herman Benfield of Elk Park, NC, Sam Benfield of Newland, NC and Hue Benfield of Elk Park, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
