It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Andrews of Newland, North Carolina, who passed away on September 17, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Walter Andrews and Lizzie Ferguson Andrews; and his siblings, Alberta Andrews Clark, Miriam Andrews Greene, Ronald Andrews and Carl Andrews.

He is survived by: his wife Melba Vance Andrews; his children, Sherman Andrews (Tara) of Newland, NC, Lynn Andrews (Beth) of Morganton, NC, Greg Andrews (Marcie) of Newland, NC and Elizabeth Bowersox (Andy) of Winston Salem, NC; and his sisters, Wanda Howell (Jack Ledford) of Pineola, NC, Margaret English of Linville, NC and Betty Fraley of Asheville, NC. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
