He was predeceased by: his parents, Warnie Thompson and Alice Peters Thompson; and his daughter Pamela Lee Dale. He is survived by: his wife Gwen Buchanan Thompson; his grandchildren, Stephen Dale (Andrea) of Hickory, NC and Nadia Carpenter (Cole) of Newland, NC; and his great grandchildren, Calliope Carpenter, Jackson Dale, Addie Dale, Inara Dale and Bailey Dale.
