He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cooper and Nelia Winebarger Cooper. He is survived by: his wife Janice Cooper of Newland; his children, Amanda Cooper of Morganton, Lesia Briggs (Travis) of Burnsville, Davey Cooper (Jessica Blake) of Newland, Tina Estep (Shawn) of Roan Mountain and Victor Cooper of Newland; his sisters, Helen Shoemaker of Newland and Doris Shoemaker of Newland; and his close friends, Charlie and Brenda McKinney of Roan Mountain, Tennessee.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Church of Jesus Christ in Roan Mountain.
