He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Lee Edwards and Thelma Earnhardt Edwards; his son Barney Edwards; and his daughter-in-law Lynn Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Doris Simpson Edwards of New London; his children, Johnny Edwards (Ashley) of Troy and Saundra Edwards of New London; and his siblings, Homer Edwards of Granite Quarry and Carolyn Wallace of Charlotte. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
