She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Pinkney Chappell and Myrtle Easter Chappell; her husband Carey Jones; and her siblings, Billy Chappell, Annie Belle and Fannie Marie.
She is survived by: her daughters, Libby Eubanks (Charlie) of Pittsboro, Cathy Whitaker of Pittsboro and Rhonda Jones of Surf City; her grandchildren, Clint Eubanks, Jason Eubanks (Julia), Kain Whitaker (Ashley), Kurt Whitaker and Andrew Sirls; and her siblings, Robert Chappell (Pat) of Winston Salem, Margaret Allen (Donald) of Burlington and Doris Shears (Jim) of Florida.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial contributions to be made in Ruth's memory to New Elam Christian Church 3290 Pea Ridge Road New Hill, NC 27562.
