He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Wesley McCoy and Candace Farrar McCoy; his siblings, Hazel McCoy Ferguson and John Franklin McCoy; his stepdaughter Christine Miller Hurley; and his son Barry Nelson McCoy.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Cotten McCoy; his children, Donald Patrick McCoy (Barbara Gray) and Paula McCoy Schaefer (Charles Gunter); his grandchildren, Molly Comins (Clayton), Renee Blayton (Josh), Savannah Schaefer, Alexandria Hurley and Ruffin McCoy; and his son-in-law Brian Hurley. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
