She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Edward Duffy and Violet Ione Ominty; her husband Hubert Edward Gaster, Jr.; her son Thomas Gaster; and her siblings, Curtis Overthrow, Al Overthrow and Glenna Fox.
She is survived by: her children, Marsha Pendley (Odell) of Kittrell, NC, Sherri Turner (Wendell) of New Hill, NC, Mary Lowe (Jerry) of Moncure, NC, Todd Gaster (Karen) of Moncure, NC, Terry Gaster (Melissa) of New Hill, NC and Teddy Gaster (Gay) of Bahama, NC. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Helen's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
