He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bristol and Madie Register Bristol; and his brothers, Eldridge Bristol (Buddy), David Bristol and Jimmy Bristol.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Bristol of New Bern; his son Daniel Levi Bristol of New Bern; his sisters, Georgie Midyette of Pollocksville, Johnnie Arnold of Rocky Mount and Ann Morgan of New Bern; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Bristol of New Bern, Lucy Rodehaver of Kinston and Doris Alfred of New Bern. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
