It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Walter Smith Jr. (New Bern, North Carolina), who passed away on September 27, 2019, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his daughter Cheryl Smith Christison; his brother Joseph Patrick; and his brother-in-law Billy Gaskins. He is survived by: his wife Etta Mozingo Daniel Smith; his daughter Deborah Ann "Debbie" Smith; his granddaughters, Chrystal Christison Wilson (Kevin) and Chelsea Christison; his son-in-law Chris Christison; and his siblings, Ann Smith Gaskins and James W. "Jimmy" Smith, Sr.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
