He was predeceased by: his wife Ruby Pittman Lawrence; his parents, Thaddeus Raefield Lawrence and Nellie Lawrence; his son Thad Russell Lawrence Jr.; and his siblings, Watson Lawrence and Arwhnia Lawrence Best.
He is survived by: his brothers, Addison Lawrence (Judy) and James Foye Lawrence (Barbara); his daughters, Gail Banks (Dennis), Stephanie Scott (Myers), Deborah Leomann (Jean) and Amy Arthur (Tom); his grandchildren, Melanie Rhodes (Mark), Deneen Banks, Paula Banks, Ben Cahoon, Jon Cahoon, Rusty Lawrence (Brandi), Ashley Holliday (Brandon), Rebecca Pridgen, Meagan Arthur, Ruby K. Ferguson (Josh) and Mattie Lanier; his great grandchildren, Ashton Kucmierz (Al), Sydney Pitts (Eric), Olivia Rhodes, Andrew Cooper (Lindsey), Zachary Cooper, Garrett Cooper, Gavin Banks, Hunter Cahoon, Taylor Cahoon, Owen Cahoon, Aiden Pridgen, Briley Pridgen, Noah Lawrence, Jordan Lawrence, Lani Holliday, Jessie Wayne Lanier, Lola Lanier, J'ael Lanier and Jaxson Ferguson; and his grandchildren, Joseph Kucmierz, Kenly Pitts and Mattocks Pitts. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
