We are sad to announce that on July 8, 2023, at the age of 88, Shigeko Kubota Avery of New Bern, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Bunkichi Kubota and Namiko Tameria Kubota; her husband Lewis Earl Avery; and her brother Kaname Kubota. She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Avery Patterson (Randy) and Stephanie Avery Taylor (Scott); her grandchildren, Jerad Patterson, Colin McElreath and Jameson Taylor; and her siblings, Masako, Fumie, Kyoshi and Yasushi.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Craven County Health Department Foundation or lifecare.org.
