It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sallie Mae Connelly of New Bern, North Carolina, who passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Donald and Mary Lee Mitchell; her husband James G. Connelly; and her son Richard G. Connelly. She is survived by: her sons, James D. Connelly (Karen) and Jay P. Connelly (Kara Small); her granddaughters, Jeannie Smith (Adam) and Elizabeth Morris (Byron); her great grandchildren, Ava Smith, Lily Smith, Kristen Morris and Josh Morris; and her great great grandchildren, Anastasia Lilly and Claire Lilly.
