He was predeceased by: his parents, Romaine Howard and Kathryn Hill Howard; and his sister Ruth Howard Creech. He is survived by: his wife Lillian DuBose Howard; his children, Lillian Marsh Howard and Romaine Howard, III; his sister Katirie Howard Leach (James Grist Leach); and his nephews, Luther Howard Creech and Paul Parker Creech, Jr..
