He is survived by: his wife Joanie; his parents, Jim Barnhill and Joan Barnhill; his sister Margaret Chance (Joe); his mother-in-law Dixie Dixon; his brother-in-law Don Dixon (Shannon); his nieces, Katie, Emily Chance and Haven Dixon; and his nephew Colbey Dixon. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alan's name to the Colonial Capital Humane Society or to Spring Garden Baptist Church.
