She was predeceased by: her son Edward Lee Riggs; her parents, Luther Jones Purifoy, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Purifoy; and her siblings, Luther Jones Purifoy, Jr., David Thomas Purifoy, Mary Emma Purifoy Hacker and Julia Caroline Purifoy.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest Lee Riggs; her daughters, Bessie Riggs Rice and Shirley Riggs Allen; and her daughter-in-law Rosemary Edwards Riggs. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bridgeton Cemetery. A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
