She was predeceased by: her parents, Basil Harman and Welma Harman; her brother Thomas Basil Harman; and her husbands, John William Ervin and Donald Louis Schoppaul.

She is survived by: her daughters, Denna Kay Howell Kahoe, Terry Kahoe of Durham and Greenville; her granddaughter Brittany Lauren Bounds of Winterville; and her son-in-law Craig Bounds (Bryant Howell) of Winterville. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
