With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Stivers Brainard of New Bern, North Carolina, who passed away on December 26, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Stivers and Helen Stivers; and her siblings, Tom, Larry and Martha Crossman.

She is survived by: her husband Bob; and her children, Laura Vanevic, David Brainard and Michael Brainard. She is also survived by six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to send donations in Mary's honor to: John A. Hartford Foundation, dedicated to improving the care of older adults, at 55 East 59th Street 16th Floor New York, NY 10022-1713; and/or.
