It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Jo Purser Mills of New Bern, North Carolina, born in Vanceboro, North Carolina, who passed away on March 28, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Blount and Mary Jane Buck Purser; and her siblings, Vera Elizabeth Purser Toler, James Edward Purser, Garland Purser, Travis Purser, Charlie Purser and Donald Ray Purser.
She is survived by: her husband Marvin Mills; her children, Pamela Hoke (John) of Greenville, NC, Jeffrey Mills of New Bern and Wendy Wagner (Richard) of Bluffton, SC; and her grandchildren, Matthew Wagner and Kaylee Wagner of Bluffton, SC.. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Tabernacle Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
