With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Margaret Angell Volney (New Bern, North Carolina), who passed away on January 15, 2020. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Shields and Annie Shields; her husband Frank Volney, Jr.; her siblings, John A. Shields, Jr. and Martha Ann Smith; and her aunt Theresa Shipp.

She is survived by: her daughters, Margaret Angell Shields Volney II (Boo), Donna Michaux (John) of Oak Island, NC and Theresa Wilkinson (Jay) of Raleigh, NC; and her siblings, Louis Shields (Nancy Shields) and Mary Catherine Wadsworth (Albert Wadsworth) of Atlantic Beach, NC. She is also survived by four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
