He was predeceased by: his daughters, Cindy O'Neal Sawyer and Brenda O'Neal; his parents, Rudolph O'Neal and Macy O'Neal; his siblings, Curtis O'Neal (Turk), Tempie Lupton and Betty Lou Wilkins (Bootsie); his son-in-law Clifton Sawyer (Pie); and his siblings-in-law, Albert McKinney, Alford Wilkins, Sarah Smith and Mavis O'Neal.
He is survived by: his wife Athalea Watson O'Neal (Ban); his daughters, Susan O'Neal and Linda O'Neal Goodson; his grandsons, Cliff Sawyer (Ashley), Matt Sawyer (Missy) and Wes Goodson; his great grandchildren, Morgan and Macey Sawyer; his siblings, Edna McKinney and Billy Smith; and his brother-in-law Chris Lupton. He is also survived by four nephews and nine nieces.
