“I have just two good, close friends in New Bern and Joe was one. We worked together at B/S/H/ and went to church together at St. Andrew. It’s been over a month since I visited Joe. He always helped me fix the things I couldn’t quite get. When I offered money, he said “let’s just be friends.” That was Joe. I helped him move to his home and any other small help I could offer to try and repay his many favors. Our most fun was seeing the UCONN women basketball team several times. God bless.”

“Joe was a longtime family friend. Joe attended so many celebrations my family had over the years including graduations, birthday parties, and my wedding. He was a kind and generous man. I enjoyed watching the UCONN girls basketball game with him. We will miss him and are so saddened to hear of his passing. Sending prayers to his family & friends -Brittany Clark (Scott)”
