He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Lynesa Laursen Ayers; his children, David Lawrence Ayers (Teresa) of Jackson, John Coleman Ayers (Anna Callon) of Washington, DC and Karen Dunn Lancaster (Marshall) of Silver Spring; his grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Ayers, John D. Ayers, Coleman Ayers, David Ayers, Laursen Victoria Lancaster and Anna Page Lancaster; and his sister Donna Ayers Batten (John) of Nichols.
