She was predeceased by: her parents, John Richard and Caroline Worrell Railey; her husband Malcolm Reid Chitty Sr.; her grandsons, Aubrey and Railey Pitts; and her sister Rosalyn Railey Johnson.

She is survived by: her children, Catherine Chitty Pike (Joseph) of New Bern, Susan Chitty Pitts (Douglas) of Glen Alpine and Malcolm Reid Chitty Jr. (Lisa) of New Bern; her grandchildren, Lauren Chitty Smith (Garrett), Malcolm Reid Chitty III, Jane Street Simmons and Aaron Aubrey Pitts; and her great grandchild Evelyn Jane Ratledge. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
