He is survived by: his wife Susan McEnally Jackson of New Bern; his children, Brian Robert Cook (Scott Shumaker) of Portland, OR and Cynthia Jeanne Novak (Brad Novak) of Geneva, IL; his grandchildren, Max Novak of Chicago, IL., Abby Novak of Chicago, IL. and Lily Novak of Chicago, IL.; and his brother David Cook of Bloomington, IN.
