He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Sr. Tyler and Mary Tyler; and his sons, Steven Tyler and Jeffrey Tyler. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Tyler; his sons, Douglas Tyler (Chalice), Mark Tyler (Nilay), Kevin Tyler (Jodie) and Keith Tyler (Nikki); his grandchildren, Juliet, Kirstin (Isaac), Gabriel, Madison, Jeffrey, Christian, Kaley, Mandy, Grayson, Sayla, Landon, Ellison, Holland and Fallon; and his siblings, Mary Lee (Ed) and Sam. He is also survived by many loving family members and close friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cotten Funeral Home (2201 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
