With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hope Jeanene Mercer (New Bern, North Carolina), who passed away on January 16, 2024 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Theo Allen Mercer. She is survived by: her children, Crystal Elaine Mercer (Kenneth), Deborah Gaye Carpenter (Marty), Timothy Allen Mercer (Jill) and Walter Thomas Mercer (Melissa); her sister Charity Wilson; and her grandchildren, Joshua Wallace (Shirley), Bryant Wallace (Lenora), Rodney Ormond, Noelle Carpenter, Kenny Mercer (Hannah), Emily Gunn (Jeremy), Samantha Melvin (Zach), Alanna Morris (Eric) and Lauren Ciampi (Nick). She is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren.
