It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hersel Lee Bowen Jr. of New Bern, North Carolina, born in Winterville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 19, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Hersel Lee Bowen Sr. and Mildred Manning Taylor Bowen; his daughter Arlinda C Bowen; and his sisters, Connie B Lynn and Arlinda A Bowen.

He is survived by: his son Rowland Bowen; his daughter-in-law Courtney Bowen; his grandchildren, Emma, Isaac and Ava Bowen of New Bern; and his brother Thomas M Bowen (Sandra Bowen). He is also survived by nephew, three nieces and many cousins.
