She was predeceased by: her parents, William Z. "W. Z." Boyd and Gladys Wood Boyd; her husband Vernon L. Goodwin Sr.; her son Vernon L. Goodwin, Jr.; and her siblings, Catherine Johnnie Boyd Daniels, Elizabeth Boyd Hughes, W. Z. "Zeke" Boyd, Jr. and Richard T. Boyd, Sr..
She is survived by: her sister Gladys Wood Boyd Lewis of New Bern; her grandsons, Joseph Vernon Goodwin (Ashley Arterberry) of Asheville, NC and William Boyd Goodwin (Kelly Ahern) of Rock Hill, SC; her great grandchild Claire Evey Goodwin; and her daughter-in-law Ellen Banks. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
