He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred McCotter Holton, Sr. and Shirley Garner; and his son Jared McCotter Holton. He is survived by: his wife Candace Holton; his daughter Leah Raines; and his siblings, Duane Holton and Debbie Early.

In lieu of flowers the family requested memorial donations be made to Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home, PO Box 99, Alliance, NC 28509.
