He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Taylor Bender, Sr. and Josephine Parker Bender; and his sister Mary Jo Burkot. He is survived by: his wife Gayle Whitehurst Bender; his children, Wendy Byrd, Jennifer Golden and Jeffery Byrd; his sister Barbara Fearing (Frank); his brother-in-law Jerry Burkot; his grandchildren, Sophia Byrd, Bryce Golden, Lela Byrd, Reese Golden and Ella "Frankie" Byrd; and his great grandchild Sebastian Arkin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Flowers are welcomed or memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Pollocksville Presbyterian Church.
