Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Evelyn Louise Careway of New Bern, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 82, on November 5, 2022. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie L. Carpenter Sr. and Annie Batten; her husband James W. Careway Jr.; her daughter Dollie Antuan Reed; and her siblings, Sara, Jessie, Charlie Jr., Dewey and Willie.

She is survived by: her sons, James W. Careway III (Lynda) and William Careway (Cathy); and her siblings, Kenny Carpenter, Bobby Carpenter, Sandra Hughes, Mary Frances Delbridge and Elizabeth Foley. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
