She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie L. Carpenter Sr. and Annie Batten; her husband James W. Careway Jr.; her daughter Dollie Antuan Reed; and her siblings, Sara, Jessie, Charlie Jr., Dewey and Willie.
She is survived by: her sons, James W. Careway III (Lynda) and William Careway (Cathy); and her siblings, Kenny Carpenter, Bobby Carpenter, Sandra Hughes, Mary Frances Delbridge and Elizabeth Foley. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
