Esther Grey (Horne) Joyner Obituary

Our beloved Esther Grey Horne Joyner born on January 24, 1950 New Bern, NC , deceased on February 16, 2021 with her family at her side at her home in Pinetops NC, Esther Horne Joyner is survived by her husband James Ervin Joyner, daughter Katharine Burch, granddaughters Sarah and Jessica Burch, and bothers Leonard "Buzzy" Horne, wife Robbie Horne, and Larry L Horne, wife Joan Horne. She precedes her daughter Rebecca "Becky" Lynn Joyner, mother Eleanor Smith Horne, and father Leonard Elwood Horne, and sister Evelyn Lorraine Horne. She was an extraordinary daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Esther worked 15 years at Gateway Education Center in Greensboro, a school for handicapped children where her oldest daughter "Becky" attended. Esther and her husband also took in and cared for several family members and friends with an unselfish loving caring heart. For the last five years, Esther fought hard against her diagnose of Progressive Super Nuclear Palsy. Esther loved her Lord God and Savior Jesus. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we morn her passing and will always be reminded of her love, generosity and kindness. We know she is peacefully in the presence of God now
