He was predeceased by: his parents, George Collins and Ethel Collins; his daughter Dana Faye Collins; and his brothers, Lionell Collins, Bobby "Frog" Collins and George "Duck" Collins.
He is survived by: his children, Elwood W. Collins Jr. (Jennifer Dunlow) of Greenville, Karen Hill of Hubert, Sharon Shipley (Scott), Mandi Kinsey (Justin) of Bayboro and Kim Collins of New Bern; and his brother Alvis Collins of New Bern. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
