It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Ruth (McKeel) Smith of New Bern, North Carolina, who passed away on March 7, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Wade McKeel and Zylphia Wilson McKeel. She is survived by: her siblings, Peggy Harrington of Hamlet, NC, Linda Irwin of Petersburg, Thomas McKeel (Shirlene) of New Bern, Wayne McKeel (Nannette) of Vanceboro, NC, Emma Jean Calderwood (Don) of Harrisburg, NC., Sidney McKeel, Vernon McKeel, Maxine Bahmer, Leslie McKeel, Billy McKeel, Doris Farmer and Donald McKeel. She is also survived by her siblings.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eleanor's honor to St. Judes or the Salvation Army of New Bern.
