Eleanor Ray Mitchell Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eleanor Ray Mitchell of New Bern, North Carolina, who passed away on August 14, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Wells and Tempe Wells; her husband John Mitchell; and her brothers, Leonard Wells, Ralph Wells and Pete Wells.

She is survived by: her children, Bass Mitchell (Debbie), Danny Mitchell (Lisa), Ida Wright (Woody), Sherry Holler and Renee Brown (Randy); her grandchildren, Michael Mitchell, Melody Jenkins, Meredith DeSantis, Jodie Tyler, Haley Cunningham, Taylor Wright, Megan Ragland, Sabre Dunn, Kelly Nay, Casey Hoffman, Emerson Brown, Jessica Whitford and Brandon Brown; her great grandchildren, Kemper Mitchell, Kaley Tyler, Mandy Tyler, Grayson Tyler, Sayla Tyler, Hudson Cunningham, Delilah Cunningham, Tristan Wright, Liam Wright, Banks Ragland, Charleston Ragland, Philip Bowling, Seth Bowling, Sarah Harden, Luke Bowling, Lee Nay, Sam Nay, Olivia Nay, Davis Hoffman, Dawson Hoffman, Camdyn Whitford, Evlee Whitford, Berklee Whitford, Rylee Koonce and Bennett Koonce; her great great grandchildren, Addison Nay, Ashton Patterson and Barrett Long; and her sisters, Alma Cottle and Opal Grace. She is also survived by many loving family members and close friends.
