Colleen (Welsh) Alfonso Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Colleen (Welsh) Alfonso (New Bern, North Carolina), who passed away on August 20, 2015, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Colleen (Welsh) Alfonso to pay them a last tribute.
New Bern, N.C. - Colleen Welsh Alfonso, 29, of New Bern, N.C., formerly of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2015.

Born in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Therese Welsh Kilmer. Colleen was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School, and attended SUNY, Oneonta and Marist College.

In 2007, Colleen enlisted in the USMC, and attained the rank of Sargeant, and was honored as Marine of the year. She was a member of the Poughkeepsie High School Crew team and Swim team. She was also on the Marist College Women's Rugby Team. New England sports teams were her passion.

On April 6, 2013 in Wappingers Falls, she was married to Kevin Alfonso. Together they had their daughter Addyson Barbara Delia Alfonso.

Leaving behind to cherish her memories are her husband Kevin Alfonso, her 20 month old daughter Addyson, her Mother Therese Welsh Kilmer, her stepfather, LeRoy W. Kilmer, Jr., her sister AnnMarie Welsh Fortuso, her many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and step siblings, and her animal's Panda and Goose.

Colleen was predeceased by her grandparents, Joseph D. and Barbara M. Welsh. Colleen brought joy to each of her family and friends. Colleen was adored by all. Rest in peace sweet angel!

Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Burial St. Marys Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908
