She was predeceased by: her parents, Townsley Scott and Irene Scott; and her husband Milton P. Emer. She is survived by: her brother Thomas Scott (Janice) of New Bern; her niece Toni Morris (Keith) of Vanceboro; her nephew Christopher Scott (Marisa) of Texas; her stepdaughters, Pattie Richards (Perry) of Vermont and Betsy Szabocsik (Jack) of Pennsylvania; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Michaela Rice of Vanceboro, Austin Morris of Vanceboro, Sydney Smith of Texas and Parker Scott of Florida.

In lieu of flowers and because of her love for animals, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her name to the ASPCA by visiting their website at http://www.aspca.org.
