He was predeceased by: his son Paul Monid. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Monid; his children, James DeGroff of New Bern, NC, Russel Monid of Brandon, FL, John DeGroff of Union City, NJ and Alina Loux (Derek Loux) of Lake Hiawatha, NJ; and his grandchildren, Jenna, Courtney, Zachary, Jessica and Katie. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to Mercy Clinic, 1315 Tatum Dr, New Bern, NC 28560.
