He was predeceased by: his father James E. Buchanan, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Maxine Peters Buchanan of Nebo; his sister Teena Melia (Tony); his niece Cammisa Melia; his nephew A. J. Melia; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Julian Hernandez, Jasmin Hernandez, Rosalyn Valentine and Sabastian Valentine.
