He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Woody and Lewis Charles Metcalf; his wife Sharon Lou Ledford; and his brother Bill Metcalf (Joyce). He is survived by: his former wife Mildred Southern; his sister Linda Swann (Eddie); his children, Pam White (Garry Winebarger), Robin Miller (Robin) and Chuck Metcalf (Amy); his grandchildren, Stephanie Ritchie (Josh), Daniel White (Tina), Sarah Lowder (Brandon), Tyler Metcalf, Austin Moore (Sydney), Megan McMechen (Cody), Aaron Moore and Coleman Metcalf; and his great grandchildren, Ady Lowder, Travis White, Amelya Lowder, Taylor White and Gunner Moore. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
