He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Naomi Brinkley; his children, Roosevelt "Anthony" Brinkley Jr. and Elaine Brinkley; his sisters, Louisa Dunston, Willie Mae Strickland, Mattie Arrington (Sammy) and Ida Jean Lewis; his son-in-law Donald Richardson; and his nephew Jimmy Brinkley. He was also cherished by fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
