He was predeceased by: his parents, Carrol James and Edna James; and his brother Timothy James. He is survived by: his wife Judith Ann James; his daughters, Stefanie Manning (Philip) of Rocky Mount and Sara James of Nashville; his stepchildren, Andrew Wilson of Pensacola, Florida and Ashley Bell (Scott) of Rocky Mount; and his siblings, Meggie James of Nashville, Miriam Hayes (Ricky) of Elm City and Mark James (Jenny) of Nashville. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
