He is survived by: his wife Ellen Whitehurst Ward; his children, Brian Christopher Ward (Tobey) and Bethany Ward Ramsey; his grandchildren, Sidney Ramsey, Carsyn Ward, Ben Ramsey and Delaney Ward; and his brother Edison Powers Ward, Jr..
