She is survived by: her children, Shirley Richardson (Fred) of Nashville, NC, Lillie Marie Dawes Blue of Rocky Mount, NC, Brenda Leonard (Vernon) of Durham, NC, Melvin Dawes (Gladys) of Rocky Mount, NC, William Luther Dawes (Betty) of Charleston, SC, James Edward Dawes (Teresa) of Middlesex, NC and Handy Dawes (Angela) of Nashville, NC; and her sister Elizabeth Lewis (Charlie) of Battleboro, NC. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
