He was predeceased by: his sons, Audie Leo Long and James Thomas Long. He is survived by: his wife Audrey Carpenter Long; his son Timothy Matthew Long of Clinton; his stepchildren, Pamela Collins (Michael) of Rocky Mount, Kathy Williams (Ken) of Red Oak and Al Harper (Wendy) of Nashville; and his siblings, George Long of Goldsboro and Joanne Parrish (Randy) of Dunn. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family friends and other extended relatives.
