He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara; his parents, Ernest Morgan Land, Sr. and Pearl Joiner Land; and his siblings, Ernest Morgan Land, Jr., Thomas, Robert Land and Elizabeth Bond Shoaf.
He is survived by: his daughter Shelia Smith (Keith) of Zebulon; his grandsons, Michael Ray Smith of Miami, David Keith Smith of Zebulon and Andrew Morgan Smith (Amber) of Zebulon; and his great grandchildren, Riley and Caroline Smith.
