With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Jo Abbott (Nashville, North Carolina), born in Louisburg, North Carolina, who passed away on June 28, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lessie Mae Boone Bowden and Bennett Columbus Bowden; her son Steve Collins; her siblings, Ruby Lewis, Bennett Bowden and Linwood; and her grandchildren, Daniel, Michael Collins and Lorriane Collins.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce Sobey of Powhatan, VA, Norma Marshpund of Waverly, VA and Charles T. "Tom" Collins (Donna) of Chesapeake, VA; her sisters, Dorothea Coley of Nashville, NC and Linda Horseman (Scott) of Clayton, NC; her daughter-in-law Susan Collins; and her pets, Chevis, Fancy and Tom. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
